Jack & Grace is a wedding planning firm based in Westchester County. It sells luxury and destination work across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, and further afield than that. We read the site and its About page on 11 September 2026. That page is specific about people and vague about the company. Aoife is described with nearly twenty years in events and a decade focused on luxury weddings. Lauren is described with over a decade in event and wedding planning. What the page never gives is a founding year for the firm itself. No price, minimum, budget percentage or flat fee range appears anywhere on it. No venue is named anywhere either, which for a planner is a notable absence.
Nothing on the site tells you what planning costs here, and for a firm selling luxury and destination work the minimum spend is usually the first filter. Ask which pricing model applies, flat fee, percentage of budget or hourly. Get the number before the consultation. If it is a percentage, confirm what it applies to. Then settle travel on destination events in the agreement.

The firm publishes no founding date, no pricing and no named venues.
Twenty years of individual experience and a decade of it are real credentials. They are not the same as a business with twenty years of operating history, insurance renewals and vendor relationships under one name. Both things can be true at once. Ask when the firm was formed, and under what name.
For a planner, the second question is capacity. Establish the number of weddings the firm takes in a year, and how many run on a single Saturday. Which of the two founders is on your date is the third answer to get.
Planners generally charge a flat fee, a percentage of the total wedding budget, or an hourly rate for partial work. The site names none of them. It publishes no minimum spend either, which for a firm marketing itself as luxury is the figure most couples want first.
Check which model the firm uses before the consultation, so an hour does not go into a fit conversation about a service you cannot afford. If it is a percentage, find out what the percentage applies to. Whether venue and catering sit inside that base is the follow up.
Most planners list the rooms they work. This one does not. That may be a design choice or a client confidentiality position, and either is defensible. It also means you cannot check whether the firm has ever run a wedding at your venue.
Ask for three Westchester venues the firm worked in the last two years, and for a reference from a couple at one of them.
It is also worth knowing whether the firm holds preferred vendor relationships that carry a commission. That is ordinary in planning, and you still want to know whether a recommendation reflects a preference or a payment.
A planning contract should state the service tier and the deliverables. It should also name the moment the planner takes over vendor communication. Cancellation terms and who covers travel on a destination event belong in the same document. None of that is on the site, so all of it belongs in the agreement.
