Which Westchester country clubs will let you book a wedding without a member

Westchester County has 35 country, golf, shore and yacht clubs in this directory, and three of them can be booked by anyone who picks up the phone. The set is reproducible. Take our country clubs hub, then drop the two venues in it that are not clubs at all, the event spaces Club Infinity and Coliseum White Plains. Then add the two clubs filed under catering halls, Greentree Country Club and Whitby Castle. That is 35 clubs, and every count on this page is drawn from those 35. We read 33 of the 35 club websites on 11 September 2026. For each one we opened the home page, the weddings page, the private events or banquets page, the catering page, the membership page and the contact form, looking for one answer. Does the club state, in its own words, whether a couple with no connection to the membership can host a wedding there? Seven clubs answer yes in writing. Seven answer that a member must host or sponsor the event. Three run an open booking path with no membership question anywhere in it. Eighteen publish room names, phone extensions, event pages and sometimes a guest minimum, and never address who is allowed to book. Two of those eighteen are unread rather than silent. Waccabuc Country Club we could not reach at all, and for Whitby Castle only the marketplace listings loaded. That silent group is the finding. More than half of the club market in this county says nothing about the one question that decides whether a couple should spend an afternoon on a tour. What follows is what each club publishes, which page it sits on, and what we could not find. Where a club says nothing, we say nothing on its behalf.

We read the clubs’ own pages first and treated a marketplace listing as evidence of nothing

Every grade here comes from the club’s own domain. Club sites are built for members, so the useful pages hide: a banquets page filed under dining, an outside events tab up in the navigation.

Five grades were possible: open to the public, non members welcome, member sponsored, members only, and not published. No club in Westchester earned the members only grade. Not one of the 33 sites we could read publishes a sentence refusing outside weddings, so the silent clubs are genuinely unknown rather than quietly closed.

We also checked The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot, Cvent and PartySlate for every club, and treated what we found as a listing rather than a policy. A profile with a price proves a sales page exists. It does not prove the club will take your booking.

Three clubs take a booking from a couple with no membership and no sponsor

Greentree Country Club in New Rochelle runs an event inquiry form that asks for event type, guest count, date and ceremony needs, and nothing at all about membership. Its memberships page covers a summer beach and pool membership and never ties event booking to it. The only capacity the club publishes is the Classic Room at up to 200. The Knot shows $10,200 starting, a marketplace figure.

The Fairways at Dunwoodie Golf Course in Yonkers is the catering operation at a Westchester County public golf course, run by Homestyle Caterers. Membership is never mentioned, because there is none. The wedding menu is published as an image with no prices on it.

Lake Isle Country Club in Eastchester is a Town of Eastchester facility whose catering runs under an outside brand, Mulino’s at Lake Isle. The town sells memberships for golf, pool and tennis, and neither site ties a wedding booking to one. The Knot lists three ballrooms and 300 plus guests, with no price. A couple searching the club name may never find the events business.

Seven clubs state that outside couples are welcome, and Mount Kisco says it in one sentence

Mount Kisco Country Club publishes the clearest line in the county. Its banquets and special events page says outright that you do not need to be a member or have a member sponsor to host an event. The Dining Room takes 220 for weddings and the Events Lawn 400. No pricing is published.

Trump National Golf Club Westchester is the one to read carefully. Its weddings and events page describes membership sponsored programmes that let you use the venue without a required membership, and its inquiry form treats guest of a member as an optional answer. Ask which programme applies to you before you plan around it.

The other five each publish an outside event path on their own site:

• Hollow Brook Golf Club, Cortlandt Manor: private for golf, public for weddings, with two package pages and pricing behind a lead form. Its weddings page commits to one wedding per day and the banquet room seats 180. The Knot and WeddingWire both start it at $13,500, with $16,000 peak and a $1,750 ceremony fee on WeddingWire.
• Westchester Hills Golf Club, White Plains: the private events page sits outside the member login, and the homepage embeds a vendor badge linking to the club’s own marketplace listing. It warns that dates are limited. WeddingWire carries a $1,500 ceremony site fee; the club publishes none.
• Harrison Meadows Country Club, Harrison: town owned, after Harrison took the former Willow Ridge club by eminent domain for $13.65 million. The weddings page says it begins hosting weddings in 2026, the dining page says the public is welcome, and the inquiry form asks nothing about membership. Its pages give 250 and 350 as the capacity.
• Pleasantville Country Club, Pleasantville: weddings run under a separate brand on the same grounds, The Pleasantville Manor, which publishes an open booking form with no membership requirement and caps a wedding at 120 guests. The club’s own pages never mention weddings.
• Ardsley Country Club, Dobbs Ferry: the weakest of the seven. The club files weddings under an Outside Events section in its own navigation. But the weddings page carries no text and the only inquiry path is for membership. Call 914-591-8150 first.

Seven clubs require a member to host or sponsor the wedding, and they say so plainly

Westchester Country Club in Rye puts the same sentence on both event pages: to host an event you must be a member or be sponsored by one. The same rule covers the WCC Beach Club. The Biltmore Room takes 250 for a dinner dance and the Bandshell Terazzo seats 700. Saturday nights carry guest minimums of 165 in the Biltmore Room and 100 in the Westchester Room, and 200 at the Beach Club from May to October.

Five more publish the same restriction in their own words:

• Scarsdale Golf Club, Hartsdale: its plan your event page states that all events must be hosted or sponsored by a member. The Oval Room seats 220. Events are coordinated with an outside brand, PH Event Group.
• Hampshire Country Club, Mamaroneck: the weddings page and the private events page both limit the offer to members and to those a member sponsors. Seated capacity is 270. The property has been in a development fight since at least 2020.
• Siwanoy Country Club, Bronxville: private events are described as member sponsored and membership itself is by invitation, with no public inquiry form. Its Donald Ross course hosted the first PGA Championship in 1916.
• Larchmont Shore Club, Larchmont: the banquets page is headed private member events, and the guest page welcomes guests who arrive with a member. The Main Dining Room takes 200. Events run March to December, so winter dates do not exist here.
• Shenorock Shore Club, Rye: the about page says use of the facilities is exclusive to members, with invited and sponsored guests welcome. Its weddings page never says an outside couple may book.

Eighteen clubs never say who is allowed to book, and three of them publish no event page at all

These clubs are not refusing outside weddings, and they are not accepting them either, at least not anywhere a couple can read it. We report the silence and name the pages. Sixteen of the eighteen are named in this section. The other two, Waccabuc Country Club and Whitby Castle, carry the same not published grade and sit in the section below, because no page either club controls would load for us.

Three publish no event offering whatsoever. Century Country Club in Purchase runs a public site limited to history and a dress code. The Summit Club at Armonk has no weddings or catering page and a clubhouse listed as a planned future amenity. Beach Point Club in Mamaroneck has no events section at all.

Four frame every event reference around members without finishing the thought. Metropolis Country Club staffs a private events manager and offers only a membership inquiry form, with a clubhouse reopening due in spring 2026. Old Oaks Country Club calls itself member owned and describes its terrace as suited to members and guests entertaining. Wykagyl Country Club gives four room names and one phone extension. Whippoorwill Club mentions weddings on its dining page, caps itself at 340 members, and returns a 404 on its own public events URL.

Sleepy Hollow Country Club publishes the most detailed catering page of any silent club. The McKim, Mead and White mansion takes up to 400 in season and a West Terrace tent 400 from mid April to the end of October. Saturday evenings carry a 175 guest minimum. The page never uses the word member or the word public.

Coveleigh Club in Rye is the closest call. Its special events page markets a wedding for 200 guests. Its social events page then reserves the social calendar for members, and its contact page says membership candidates must be sponsored, which is a rule about joining rather than hosting. WeddingWire describes the club as renting to non members for a fee. The club has not said that, so the grade stays at not published.

Seven more run an open inquiry path with no eligibility line anywhere on it:

• Sunningdale Country Club, Scarsdale: a host an event form listing weddings, beside private club language throughout the site.
• Bonnie Briar Country Club, Larchmont: bookings through the assistant general manager, and a 2026 banquet menu published as an image only flipbook.
• Brae Burn Country Club, Purchase: a host your event section and 10,000 plus square feet, with no eligibility statement.
• Fenway Golf Club, Scarsdale: weddings advertised, a director of events named, and no public inquiry form.
• Mamaroneck Beach & Yacht Club, Mamaroneck: an events page headed for members, an open date form, and a 360 guest capacity.
• Orienta Beach Club, Mamaroneck: weddings and special events pages and a range of 16 to 225 guests.
• Leewood Golf Club, Eastchester: weddings marketed on the home page while the about page lists membership required. We recorded the conflict rather than picking a side.

One club we could not read at all, and one whose own pages never loaded for us

Waccabuc Country Club in the Town of Lewisboro is the one unresolved record, and the only club here where we read nothing whatsoever. Neither address we hold for it loaded, and no marketplace listing turned up either. We are not presenting it as bookable and we are not calling it members only. It stays marked unread.

Whitby Castle in Rye is the second gap and a shallower one. The castle was built in 1852 and stands on the Rye Golf Club property. Neither the venue’s own site nor its operator’s page loaded for us, so we hold no first party statement about who may book. We do have two marketplace listings with prices and no membership caveat: Zola at $9,500 starting and The Knot at $10,000. Rye Golf Club is a City of Rye facility with residency based membership, so the question is live.

All 35 clubs, plus the two catering brands that run the weddings at two of them, which makes 37 rows. Read the third column as what the club publishes, which is different from what the club will do.

Member sponsored is a contract term before it is a social one

At a member sponsored club the member is usually not a guest at your wedding. The member is the party the club deals with. That shows up in whose name goes on the contract, whose account carries the bill, and who the club holds responsible.

The risk is not that the club is unfriendly. It is that your date depends on a relationship you do not control. Members resign, move away, or decline to guarantee a six figure event. A verbal sponsorship is no venue at all.

House rules follow the sponsorship. Dress codes, photography limits in member areas and rules about which days outside events may run come from the club’s own book. Member dining and golf usually continue during your wedding. Only Hollow Brook publishes a one event at a time commitment, so ask for exclusivity in writing everywhere else.

Ask these before a deposit:

• Who signs the contract, and is the member a co signer or a guarantor?
• If the sponsoring member’s membership ends before our date, what happens to the booking?
• Are deposits billed to a member account, and who gets the refund if we cancel?
• Which days does the club allow sponsored events, and are Saturdays among them?
• Is there a guest minimum by room and by night, and does it move with the season?
• Will member service run elsewhere in the building during our reception?
• What is the end time, and what does an extension cost?

Public ownership makes access likelier at four of these clubs and still is not a policy

Four of the 35 sit on publicly owned land, which changes the odds without changing what is published. Lake Isle Country Club is a Town of Eastchester facility. Harrison Meadows Country Club belongs to the Town of Harrison. Whitby Castle stands on Rye Golf Club land, a City of Rye facility. The Fairways at Dunwoodie Golf Course is the catering operation at a county public course. Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake both sit in the Westchester County Parks golf system, though only Dunwoodie carries an events business here.

Three of those four publish an open or near open booking path. Whitby Castle publishes nothing first party. Public ownership is a useful signal and a poor substitute for a written answer, because municipal clubs run residency tiers of their own. Rye Golf Club membership is residency based and Eastchester sells resident and non resident passes, but those tiers govern recreation rather than catering.

Ask the same questions here as at a private club, plus one more. Find out who runs the catering and when that agreement expires. At Lake Isle and at Dunwoodie, the people selling you the wedding work for a caterer.

What these clubs publish is capacity, and what they almost never publish is price

Across the 33 clubs whose own pages we could read, we found no per person rate published first party. None. The rates that exist come from marketplaces, or sit behind a lead form like the Hollow Brook pamphlet, or inside a document that would not open like the Bonnie Briar flipbook.

Guest minimums are the exception, and they decide budgets. Sleepy Hollow publishes 175 guests for Saturday evenings in season and Westchester Country Club 165 in the Biltmore Room. A 175 guest floor at a club that will not quote a per person rate is a large blank cheque.

Capacities conflict more often than you would expect. Harrison Meadows gives 250 on one of its own pages and 350 on another. We print both and name each source rather than splitting the difference.

Seasons are easy to miss. Larchmont Shore Club runs March to December and the WCC Beach Club Memorial Day to Labor Day. A February date rules several of these venues out before you call.

Work the list in this order and you will waste far less of your own time

One call settles most of it. Ask the events office a single sentence: can a couple with no membership and no member sponsor sign a contract here for a Saturday in our month? Anything short of yes is a no until it is in writing. Ask for the answer by email, because the person answering a club phone is often a food and beverage manager.

• With no member connection, start with Mount Kisco, Hollow Brook, Westchester Hills, Trump National, Harrison Meadows, The Pleasantville Manor, Greentree, Lake Isle and Dunwoodie, in that order.
• With a member connection, add the seven sponsored clubs and ask the member in writing before you tour anything.
• Treat the eighteen clubs that publish no policy as phone calls rather than plans, and ask for the answer by email.
• Check the season before the room, because several of these venues close for winter dates.
• Get exclusivity, the guest minimum and the end time into the contract, because almost none of it is published.

What this page is not claiming about any club on it

We are not saying a silent club refuses outside weddings. We looked for a refusal and found none. A club with no weddings page may host twenty a year through word of mouth, and we would have no way to see it.
