Bedford Gourmet works out of Bedford and covers Westchester County and Connecticut. The thing worth knowing first is structural. Event planning and vendor coordination, meaning rentals, linens, tenting, lighting and staffing, are folded into the catering engagement at no separate charge, according to the company’s own catering services page. For a tented wedding on a private lawn, that is a large amount of work sitting inside one contract. What the page never carries is a price. Menus are posted for weddings and for holiday catering, and none of them shows a figure. There is no per person band and no minimum spend. The company also describes itself as a preferred caterer at most of the top event spaces in its area without naming one of them, which is the claim to check first.

Nothing here is priced in public, so the first real number arrives after a site visit. Ask for a per person food figure separate from staffing, rentals and tenting. Work out what the service charge is and whether it is taxed. Get the named preferred venue list. For a wedding at a private house, settle who pays for power, water access and kitchen tenting.

The catering services page at bedfordgourmet.com and the menus linked from it, read on 11 September 2026. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.

The company calls itself a preferred caterer at most of the top event spaces nearby and then names none of them.

The coordination is bundled, and that is the actual offer

Rentals, linens, tenting, lighting and staffing are handled inside the catering engagement at no separate coordination charge, according to the company’s catering services page. For a tented wedding at a private house in northern Westchester, that is a meaningful amount of work moving under one contract.

It also makes the single number harder to read. Get the proposal itemized so you can see what the food costs, what the rentals cost and what the staff costs. Bundled does not mean free.

Staffing is usually the line that surprises people. A seated dinner on a lawn needs servers and bartenders, plus a captain and a dish crew. The count rises with every course change. Ask how many staff are budgeted and for how many hours. Overtime after midnight is priced separately, so get that figure too.

Menus are posted, prices are not

The site links catering menus and holiday catering menus. We opened the catering services page on 11 September 2026 and found dishes without figures. No per person band, no minimum, no staffing rate.

That is common for off premise catering, where headcount and site conditions drive the cost. It still means you cannot compare Bedford Gourmet against another caterer until both have quoted your guest count and your property.

A preferred caterer claim with no venue attached

The company says it is a preferred caterer at most of the top event spaces in its area. It does not name one of them. Preferred lists are specific and checkable. Ask for the list, then call the venue you care about and confirm the company is on it.

Some venues charge an outside caterer fee even for approved companies. Check which side of that line you are on before you sign.

The company also covers corporate and holiday events, which matters in December. A caterer with a heavy holiday book has fewer staff free on a Saturday in early winter. If your date falls in that stretch, ask how many events the kitchen runs that weekend and who is assigned to yours.
