National chain with no Westchester studio: $1,695 starting on The Knot, $1,395 on WeddingWire for the same region.
George Street Photo & Video is a national company rather than a Westchester studio, and that is the first thing to understand about it. The Knot lists it under Westchester photographers at $1,695 starting. WeddingWire lists $1,395 starting for the same region. Two marketplaces, two different floors. Neither figure comes from a rate card the company publishes itself. The site marks 20 years in business and advertises a $500 discount on a package it calls Love Captured. It also builds landing pages for individual venues, including one for Crabtree’s Kittle House Inn in Chappaqua, which is how a national brand turns up in a county search. There is no Westchester office behind those pages, and no named shooter attached at the point of booking.
The only figures are marketplace ones and they do not agree, which tells you neither is a dependable floor. Ask the company what a Saturday in your month costs and which package the lower number describes. Whether the $500 Love Captured discount sits on top of it is the next question. Then settle when your photographer is named and what the remedy is if that person cancels.
The George Street venue page for Crabtree’s Kittle House Inn. We also read the Westchester wedding photographers listing on The Knot and the WeddingWire listing for the same region. Checked September 2026. First party means the business’s own site or rate card. Marketplace means The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Wedding Spot or similar. Nothing here is averaged or estimated.
This is a national chain with no Westchester studio and no named shooter at booking. Its two marketplace starting prices do not agree with each other.
The Knot says $1,695. WeddingWire says $1,395. Both are described as starting prices for the same regional listing, and the company publishes no rate card of its own. Work out the spread for yourself and then put it to the company. A gap between two marketplace floors usually means the listings were written at different times, or that they describe different minimum packages.
Ask the company directly what the cheapest booking costs for a Saturday in your month, and which package the $1,395 figure refers to. Check whether the advertised $500 Love Captured discount comes off that number or is already inside it. If a third figure appears, that tells you how much weight either listing carries.
The booking model assigns a photographer from a roster, and it does not sell you a specific person. That is how the price stays low and how one company covers every market at once. It also means the portfolio you looked at may not be the work of the person who arrives.
If you book, find out when the photographer is assigned. Request that individual’s complete gallery from one wedding before the final balance falls due. The substitution policy, should they cancel, is the third answer you need. Get all of it into the contract. A verbal assurance about assignment is worth very little nine months out from a date.
The trade is a legitimate one. A roster model is how a national company holds a starting price of $1,695 while covering every market in the country at the same time. You are buying coverage at a price, and what you give up is knowing in advance whose eye is behind the camera on the day.
The Crabtree’s Kittle House Inn page is a per venue landing page built to rank in search. That is normal practice and it does not mean the company has never worked there. It also does not prove that they have.
Ask for a complete gallery from a wedding at your Westchester venue, with the date attached. If what comes back is a set of images from several venues, treat the landing page as advertising.
